You have decided to seek help. Likely, that’s why you are on this page. That’s why we are here too. To help you in your journey of healing and recovery from trauma. Whether this is your first step in that journey or whether you’re exploring a different way of experiencing therapy, aarambha offers you a safe space to do so.
We are glad you are here.
Therapy serves during and in the aftermath of trauma; at the same time, work is necessitated in creating communities that are aware of the realities of trauma and how they may respond to the traumatized among them. For while wounding happens in communities, healing happens in communities too.
Dr Bruce Perry says – Trauma and our responses to it cannot be understood outside the context of human relationships… because humans are inescapably social beings, the worst catastrophes that can befall us involve relational loss. As a result, recovery from trauma and neglect is also all about relationships – rebuilding trust, regaining confidence, returning to a sense of security and reconnecting to love. (pg 260, The Boy Who Was Raised As A Dog)
Our desire is to begin making inroads in the communities that we are part of by:
• Provide safe and trusting conversation spaces
• Provide individual therapy and group support & therapy through multi-modal approaches
• Equip communities with resources to respond
• Create awareness and sensitivity to trauma
• Create collaboration opportunities with other practitioners to expand the scope of the work.
The more healthy relationships a child has, the more likely he will be to recover from trauma and thrive. Relationships are the agent of change and the most powerful therapy is human love.
Dr. Bruce D. Perry
